Hung was born in Viet Nam and moved to New Zealand in 1980.
After ten years of learning external martial arts, Hung started Sing Ong Tai Chi in 1995.
Hung says, "I have always enjoyed martial arts. I trained in external martial arts for ten years until I injured the ligament on my left knee. Sing Ong Tai Chi has not only rebuilt the strength of my knee, but it has also given me the opportunity to increase my body awareness, posture alignment and "letting go" attitude. And, I am able to continue training in martial arts which is very enjoyable for me."
